On your fingertips: Sheer materials
Réserver un billet
Attracted by the suggestive power of transparency, Yves Saint Laurent began experimenting with materials such as chiffon, organza and Cigaline® in the 1960s. His creations allowed women to assert their bodies with power, pride and insolence.
Drawing on the power of materials, Sheer: The diaphanous creations of Yves Saint Laurent explores the couturier's approach to the body and to nudity revisited.
For the Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art 2024, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris is showcasing the prodigious skills of the silk manufacturers of Lyon, the makers of transparent fabrics who helped express Yves Saint Laurent's creative genius throughout his career.
For more than a century, Bucol has worked with the most prestigious haute couture houses and contemporary designers. Over the years, Bucol has been associated with Yves Saint Laurent's most daring creations, and is one of his main suppliers of transparent fabrics.
To coincide with JEMA 2024, Bucol is unveiling part of its archives in one of the museum's rooms, illustrating its collaboration with the fashion house. You'll be able to see for yourself the special features of transparent fabrics. Period samples of Cigaline® and muslin, which so fascinated the couturier, will be the subject of an ephemeral and tactile exhibition, led by the museum's conservation team.
This event is free of charge, subject to availability. If you would also like to visit the exhibition Sheer: The diaphanous creations of Yves Saint Laurent, you can buy a ticket on site or online.
