The Museum for Lace and Fashion in Calais presents Yves Saint Laurent: Transparences. The exhibition, co-produced with the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris, will be held in two parts, at the Museum for Lace and Fashion in Calais from June 24th to November 12th 2023, then at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris in 2024.

The theme of transparency is the focal point of an unprecedented collaboration between the two museums revealing how the couturier has been able to overturn the codes of the unveiling of the female body. Through some sixty models from the collections of the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent and the Museum for Lace and Fashion, complemented by accessories, drawings, photographs and videos, the exhibition shows how Yves Saint Laurent was able to rethink the language of seduction in the context of sexual revolution. Through the themes of the unveiled body, the body shown and the dressed body, the exhibition Yves Saint Laurent: Transparences traces more than forty years of creations by the couturier that reveal, through the use of the transparent effects of fabrics, bold cuts and masterful associations of materials and techniques, a figure of a new woman, powerful and sensual.
