A hundred prints and numerous archival documents depicted the years that the photographer Gisèle Freund (1908-2000) spent in Paris after fleeing Germany in 1933. During this time, she took portraits of writers such as Jean Cocteau, André Gide, Stéphane Mallarmé, James Joyce, and Virginia Woolf in both black and white and color.
