On numerous occasions, Yves Saint Laurent evoked the profound influence that Marcel Proust held for him. He described the author as his “bedside writer” and confessed that Proust “accompanies me everywhere.” Our guest speaker, the academician and eminent Proust scholar Antoine Compagnon will discuss the links between Yves Saint Laurent and Marcel Proust and their shared taste for the floral symbols that permeate their work.

Sarah Banon, doctor of political science at the University of Vincennes in Saint-Denis and professor at the Institut Français de la Mode. Ms. Banon is completing her thesis in political science at the University of Vincennes in Saint Denis.
