Career Recognition

Yves Saint Laurent’s work was awarded on a number of occasions throughout his career as a couturier. In 1982, he received the International Fashion Award of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, followed by an Oscar de la mode in 1985 and an Award of Honor in 1999.

In 2001, Saint Laurent received the Rosa d’Oro, which was created in Palermo in 1984. He received his award, which is passed on from one artist to another, from the sculptor Eduardo Chillado and in turn awarded it to the painter David Hockney in 2004. He had previously paid tribute to Hockney in his SAINT LAURENT rive gauche menswear fashion show in 1987.
