On October 31, the haute couture house closed its doors forever. In December, the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent, presided over by Pierre Bergé, was recognized as a public utility. Located in the same building as the former haute couture house at 5 avenue Marceau, its primary mission is to conserve the couturier’s entire body of work, encompassing over forty years of creation.
Between 2004 and 2016, the Fondation held exhibitions devoted to such topics as fashion, painting, and drawing. Pursuing the work that the haute couture house began in 1982, it organized exhibitions about the couturier in museums all over the world.
