Creation of Têtu

In 1995, Pierre Bergé backed the creation of the gay magazine Têtu. The first issue was released in July for the Gay Pride celebrations in France, and the magazine went on to become a reference for the French homosexual community.

In 2012, Bergé sold the magazine, which had been consistently losing money. Jean-Jacques Augier’s takeover in 2013 unfortunately did not help it recover. After twenty years in print, the magazine went into liquidation.

With the help of a start-up, the magazine returned in 2017 with a new, younger, and more militant format.
