Fashion Show of 180 Designs at the Fête de l’Humanité

For the first time a couturier presented a fashion show at the Fête de l’Humanité. Yves Saint Laurent created a major event by presenting 180 designs to a public of fifty thousand spectators.

His haute couture house would go on to organize more large-scale events, notably in India (1989) and in Seville at the Pavillon français of the Universal Exposition (1992).
