Creation of A.R.O.Y.S.L.

Early on, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé were careful to keep the most important prototypes from each collection, along with all of the sketches, ateliers’ specification sheets, collection boards, press articles, and so on. In 1997, the Association pour le Rayonnement de l’Œuvre d’Yves Saint Laurent was created in order to preserve the couturier’s body of work. A center for conservation, documentation, and exhibition was built at La Villette.
